Arsenal eye Promising Danish Midfielder Silas Andersen

A look at the Danish players profile and why he’s rated highly within the Scandinavian setup

According to reports in Sweden and Denmark Arsenal scouts have been spotted in attendance at several Häcken fixtures in recent weeks, suggesting that Silas Andersen is the reason behind their visit.

Age: 21
Position: CM/DM/CB
Height: 6’3
Foot: Right Footed
Nationality: Denmark
Club: Häcken

Silas Andersen started his early youth career at FC København (FCK), from which he moved abroad to the Italian academy of Inter Milan at 17. A couple of years of development saw him move to Utrecht in Netherlands.

He played a handful of games both for the academy and first team setting in the 2 year spell. In January 2025, he made a move to Häcken in the top division of Swedish football where he’s now solidified his presence.

Additionally, the Danish has been a graduate of multiple youth level football for his national side – from as low as the U16s to now the U20s over the years. A highly rated midfield prospect across the Scandinavian football scene.

Player Profile

Silas Andersen is an all phase influencer, you’d see him doing a bit of everything. Nevertheless, this still means that he’s yet to find a defined role for his development. He can operate as the holding midfielder and even as a sweeper whilst playing as a centre back.

Silas Andersen is a solid passer, always looking for options to progress the ball and create chances. Got a good technique in long passes; both in central and wider isolations. However, I think there’s room for improvement in terms of composure and creativity.

He’s been utilised as a CB in games for Häcken over last season and this. That in particular has looks to have increased his physical presence to intensify the duels he attempts. It’s also improved his aerial ability and maximised the his box defending.

Having made this shift from DM > CB, it’s allowed him to add elements of risks to his approach. May that be with carries intended, dribbles attempted or long passes for runners in the front line – it’s built a good developmental route for him

Silas is very sharp and shows great work rate in the defensive third, keeping him concentrated in different intervals. Whilst wanting to win the ball, his long legs aid his natural duel winning ability of tackling players whilst running or even intercepting passing.

His defensive awareness is always on display; the screening and reading of the game keeps him in advantageous positions. When the team’s defensive shape is revealed, he’s often a time the person to cover for his teammates and put his body on the line

Some of his notable footballing idols are Paul Pogba, Frenkie De Jong and Ballon D’or winner Luka Modric but his game revolves very much around a Declan Rice and Rocco Reitz. Final verdict would remain that Arsenal should target someone more technically compliant.
