Arsenal land Andrea Berta as their Sporting Director

Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Andrea Berta as their new Sporting Director, who will officially begin working with the Gunners with immediate effect.

Having left services for Atletico Madrid after a decade long successful spell at the Spanish club, Berta had been eyed by Arsenal to replicate the profile of Edu Gaspar, who resigned in November.

Arsenal’s backroom staff consisted that of managing director Richard Garlick, executive vice chair Tim Lewis, interim assistant director Jason Ayto and owner Josh Kroenke involved in aiding the Mikel Arteta in adding inputs and solutions to the club

Berta’s stint in Madrid has seen him win 2 La Liga titles, Europa League winners and finishing runners up in the Champions League twice. From being initially the technical director in 2013, he transitioned to becoming their Sporting Director in 2017

Having a strong and experienced personality like Andrea Berta gives you the added benefit of knowing what to want and how to achieve it. A man that won’t agree and accept but rather question and provide with the inputs for the betterment of the institution.
